Scale-Invariant GLRT in Stochastic Partially Homogeneous Environments
The generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) for a stochastic partially homogeneous model is proposed for adaptive signal detection. The stochastic partially homogeneous model generalizes the standard partially homogeneous model by treating the disturbance covariance matrix as a random matrix. Specifically, it assumes that, R, the disturbance covariance matrix of training signals, is a random m...
متن کاملGLRT Detector for NLOS Error Reduction in Wireless Positioning Systems
The objective of this paper is to determine the potentialities of an optimal detection scheme within the framework of subscriber location. Using a Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test (GLRT), an improved first arriving path detector from propagation channel estimates is derived. Furthermore, an expression for false alarm probability is provided and detector performance is evaluated for different c...
متن کاملA Direction Based Novel Edge Detector
This paper presents a novel direction based edge detector which not only can detect the whole edges in an image like other edge detectors, but also more effectively detect edges in any directions that are pre-selected by users. It provides users with an additional function to extract pieces of edges of the directions of particular interest. The algorithm is described in details. Effectiveness o...
متن کاملThe CFAR adaptive subspace detector is a scale-invariant GLRT
The constant false alarm rate (CFAR) matched subspace detector (CFAR MSD) is the uniformly most-powerful-invariant test and the generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) for detecting a target signal in noise whose covariance structure is known but whose level is unknown. Recently, the CFAR adaptive subspace detector (CFAR ASD), or adaptive coherence estimator (ACE), was proposed for detecting a...
متن کاملA computationally-efficient two-step implementation of the GLRT detector
In this paper, a new two-step implementation of the GLRT is proposed. A disadvantage of the GLRT detector is that it is more computationally complex than the simple AMF detector. Our two-step implementation of the GLRT significantly reduces the computational load with a negligible loss in detection performance.
